Slide Abrasion

Slide abrasion is when coarse bulk materials scrape across a surface gradually wearing down the substrate. In the video shown below TIVAR® 88-2 ESD is used in a coal diverter that sees continuous heavy slide abrasion. The low coefficient of friction surface of the TIVAR® liner helps minimize the amount of wear by allowing the material to slide freely across its surface.
